National Security

America’s vital interest in our nation’s security and in prudently advancing freedom and opposing tyranny in the world.

The first purpose and duty of government is to protect the rights and liberties of the people. Without security from domestic crime and foreign invasion, people cannot be truly free.  Americans recognize, based on historical experience, that our own security depends on our ability to prudently maintain an active role in the world.  Moreover, we Americans know that we cannot be true to ourselves and our own principles if we fail to do what we prudently can to encourage fundamental principles of freedom and justice throughout the world. We must be on the side of liberty and against the forces of tyranny wherever the contest is engaged.
