Congressman Pete Stark is the gift that keeps on giving. He has no qualms stating what he actually believes, unlike many supporters of bigger government:
It’s pretty clear that Stark’s constituents are more familiar with the text of the Constitution than the Congressman himself. He might want to brush up.
There’s also a lesson here that it pays to attend your Representative’s (or Senator’s) townhall meeting. You never know when you might get an unexpected insight into how they think.

I found Congressman Stark, in this video and other videos, to be totally out of touch with our Constitution. His attitude towards the voters is unbelievable. Whenever I see and hear him, I see his picture in the dictionary next to the work arrogance. However, when one looks around, there are many Pete Starks in Congress. We need to clean house. In fact, we need to clean both houses of Congress and get back to following our Constitution.
I agree w/you, John D. I’m not familiar with this Congressman, but it only takes one interview like this to ‘know him better’. The lady presenting her question made a very important point with intelligence. Too bad the Congressman wasn’t as informed.
Pete doesn’t beloeve the Constitution means anything at all. The frightening thing is that so many voters agree with him.
It is time for Mr. Stark and all of his co-horts to go. Wake up America. Only your vote can elect responsible representation.
